high temp cheese
-
I wonder if any one has ever made or thought about a Mexican high temp cheese blend ?
-
I checked our vendor and they don’t seem to have it. A quick internet search simply showed that Queso Fresco is heat resistant by itself as is indian paneer (never heard of that) so I wonder if either of those would hold up enough? But, what I think you are talking about is the type of mexican cheese we buy at the store. I think the best bet would be to sprinkle in some mexican style seasoning before you mix it into the meat. If Mexican cheese ever becomes available in a hi-temp variety I am sure we will try it!

@Jonathon having tacos for supper and thought that it would be fantastic in a snack stick
-
@craigrice It probably would be for some flavors. Willies, Jalapeno, BBQ Smoked, oooohh Habanero BBQ it would probably be amazing with that, Tex Mex, and Gigawatt, I guess with 5 flavors it would work with it would be worth looking into! If we can find it we will try to get some!

@Jonathon maybe ask Excaliber to develop the taco snack stick seasoning if possible just for waltons
-
@Jonathon I think that it would pair with different cheeses maybe a bratwurst seasoning I can just think of one on a bun with cheese of choice and grilled peppers & onions

@craigrice @Parksider @Joe-Hell @PapaSop @Tex_77 @macsinsac @raider2119 @Dave-R @twilliams @tarp @lamurscrappy @AdamCA @blackbetty61 @KansasDad
And @ anyone else who wants to comment. Thoughts on a taco snack stick seasoning? I’m pretty positive I can get one and I’d try to get at least a case in if there was some interest in it.
For anyone not on the list I included sorry, I just sent to the top posters but any thoughts on this are welcome!

@Jonathon I think a taco or nacho seasoning would be great with some restricted melt cheddar. Kinda like snacking on chorizo. Look how many Doritos are sold every year.
-
@Jonathon love me some tacos in any form.
-
Talked to my sons, former Boy Scouts, and they were very interested. I’m just sayin’ that I would buy some just to try out. So, Johnathon, you said that Caso Fresco is resistant to early melting, so you could use it with the Taco Seasoning in sausages and snack sticks? Hmmmmmm.
-
@Jonathon I’d give it a try!
-
@Jonathon I’d definitely be down to try it out. New spin on Taco Tuesday. I kinda like the idea of it as a Bratwurst instead of a snack stick but either way is good.
-
@Jonathon
Sounds good. Give it a shot.
-
@KansasDad I honestly don’t know on the cheese, I think it would melt, when it said it was heat resistant I think it meant more that it wouldn’t melt in the hot Mexican air. As for Taco seasoning I don’t think it would have the correct salt content but it might work! I have no clue how you would gauge how much meat a package would season though!
Sounds like enough people are interested at least to try to bring in a case of it. I will update this post when/if it is available.
-
@Jonathon I’d be down with trying that!
-
It would be fun to try and eat. As far as a meat market selling it i would say probably not. (Selling the snack sticks themselves) most people are afraid of trying something way different. But it does sound interesting!
-
@Jonathon
That would be an interesting flavor in a snack stick. I agree with @AdamCA said about it in a brat. For me it’s gonna be hard to compete with the habanero BBQ so far that’s my fav for sticks
-
@Jonathon I’m in!
-
@everyone Taco Snack Stick Seasoning is on order! I’ll send out a few things when it comes in!
