I grind 3/8 1st grind. Than decide what type of sausage I want. I like 1-1 pork beef. So what I may stuff 3/8 or bring to 1/8 for hotdogs Is my choice You’re the Chef. 🤗
Best single grind for venison
I’ll be grinding a whole deer (except for the backstrap) and would like your recommendations on the best single grind size. I plan to vacuum package 1 lb bags. I plan on making jerky from ground meat, snack sticks, brats and hamburger patties. I’ll add fat later, when making snack sticks or brats
Single or double grind?
If adding fats or grinding later a single grind with a medium plate should do well. I go with twice ground on the medium for the final grind on just about everything
Joe, thanks for your response. I have a 10 mm plate and a 1/4 inch plate and I’ll assume these are medium sized plates. (I’m new to all this) Which of these would be best?
Bigtwin - This depends on your preference. I grind several deer a year, and the concensus is the chili grind plate which is 13mm.
