Tex_77 Lol, the platform that’ll never actually happen? No! What we are planning on doing with social media is a huge scale back and basically, just point everyone to meatgistics if they have any questions. We spend too much time helping individual people on social media.
Help with this app Map

I am new to the site, and i’m trying to hack thru it. The map puzzles me. Also is there a site logic tree, training Q&A, or video for new members?

JoeB The map just shows where members are, it us based on the location you enter on your profile. There are no training videos on how to use the site. The basics are there are different categories you can post into depending on what you want to talk about. Doesn’t really matter where you post something, other than if its a non food topic, put it in the general category. Also be sure to use the search function as you may likely find the answer to your questions already answered somewhere before. Most importantly join Team Blue, this can be done in your profile settings under groups.

Thanks Tex_77 i thought the map was for that, but i didn’t see me on it. Also would like to chat with a few members by location. Thought i could use the map for that. I did join Blue a few days ago. Seems to be a lot of competition between teams. Don’t understand that. Please advise. Thanks again. Not new to meat processing,… just lost on the site (at this time)

JoeB The color war is just a running joke sorta, basically boils down to what Walton’s hat color you like Blue or Orange.
As far as messaging members in your area you can use the chat bubble in the upper right to message individual members.

Update: YAY i found me on the map, and the chat bubble… Updated profile, helps. Usually these sites have a welcome new member or intro page. But I’m fine now with your help. A few words explained a lot. Thanks again

I’ll still be here from time to time, Asking questions like a lost puppy if search doesn’t help.
-
JoeB That’s what this place is all about. Welcome to the “Pit”.
-
Thanks Fat_Bob. i have the torn tee-shirt to prove it. I see you’re into canning. Do you have a recipe for canned unrefrigerated Pickled Eggs?
-
JoeB No, eggs are tricky. Too easy to make people sick. I just store pickled duck eggs by the gallon in my beer fridg. Those two things in life deserve to be stored together.
-
Fat_BoB, Got to say that I’ve traveled all over this world in my 72years, but duck eggs in beer is a 1st for me… I have eaten almost hatched duck eggs, boiled in soup. South Korea w/fish heads
Upper state- Western NY (Buffalo). In every corner tavern would be a big 2gal clear jug with brine / vinegar, with hard boiled eggs. a dime each each. If you wanted one on a snowy day the bartender would reach in with is hand and fish out for ya
And you’re spot on that’s a tricky can, But you can buy them jarred and pickled

Oh I understand Joe. Balut was a favorite in the Philippines when I was there in the 70’s. Beaks were a little tough though. LOL I know the eggs are in the bars, ate many of them. I just don’t know how they process them to keep them safe. Never have found a good recipe to make them that was any good.
-
Wow I’ve been to the Philippines RR fm RVN, 4 days… Have to confess don’t recall very much, they just told me i was there, Got the pics to prove it. Must have had a goooood time
-
Have to ask, how did you get so many Duck eggs Bob?
-
I have 10
and get 9 or 10 eggs everyday. LOL White Layers from Metzer Farms is where I get them.
-
I’m envious Bob. Now i just reread the joke… .OK . … . You just an’t right Bob, you just an’t right
B.t.w , drove past your location maybe a 100 times, in a previous life.
-
JoeB I use to save up my leave, USN, and take it there 30 days at a time. That was darn near enough to kill a guy. Had lots of friends there and…
-
