Thanks again for your help. This type of stuff is the reason I tend to start off my post (questions) with “I’m new at this” etc.
I had decided to go ahead and stuff a little bit a see what the final product looked like with all those things sticking out. After doing so it didn’t look near as bad as it did when the casings were still on the sleeve.
Again Thank You for you help. Between the videos and this community Walton’s has really helped me.
Missing hog casings...now what?
Ok ground my meat and got the veggies ready went to get my hog casings and the bag was there but the casing have been tossed.
- Ordered new from waltons.
- Put ground meat in vac bag and put in freezer
- Same with veggies.
When casings arrive can I just regrind the meat, add veggies and seaoning and stuff as normal? Dont want to kill anyone.
samspade youshould be ok
Thanks. All set to use the new walton 11lb stuffer I got last week :(
@samspade2519 I’ve mixed and then had to hold, never more than overnight but with brats or other fresh sausage you should be okay. Just make sure the meat is fully defrosted before you go to stuff it.
Great, my waltons casings should arrive next friday so 7days frozen should be ok?
@samspade2519 Yeah, length of time frozen (as long as correctly packaged) shouldn’t be too big of a deal (unless we are talking years) and 7 days is certainly fine!
