Hey guys I’m going to do a 5 lb batch using sure gel and was wondering how much do I put in per pound? And also how much water do I add to the meat?
Luebke1219 look at the top tool bar, click on the “conversion chart” you will find your answer there on the “Additive Conversion Chart”.
Doing the math it looks like .24 oz per pound of meat. (Waltons on line under sure gel product information recommends 6 oz per 25 pounds)
Water is usually around 2 quarts for 25 pounds of meat. So around 2.6 ounces per pound of meat. ( 13 ounces of water to 5 pounds of meat.)
