mswoody6.4 The first question would be are you doing it through waltonsinc.com/win? I am assuming that you are so if that is correct the next thing to check is to make sure you are logged in on that page. You will need to login to the account first, I find the easiest way to do this is via my facebook account. Then when you click to comment it should prompt you to log in with your youtube or google account so that it can track who is commenting. If the pop-up for logging in to youtube/google is not coming up you might have a pop-up blocker running on your account and that will need to be turned off.
Walton's Quick Patty maker

I was just looking at the Patty maker, and was thinking that it would be great if you could change out the patty mold slide to make different size patties! Like say if you were making sausage patties, a 1/3 pound sausage patty would be a little big for most people. Or if you would make the file available to make a replacement slide yourself by 3d printing or if you have the ability to fabricate out of cutting board material, ETC. I know that when I get one that I will have the slide to copy, but having the exact specifications would be great if there is no possibility of actually buying a different slide mold for it.

Miket482000 I’ve used that patty maker for years and looked constantly for a mod or hack to reduce the thickness. Tip. Use your grinder with it. I fabricated a transition for my 25lb electric stuffer. Made the Patties easy and fast. Problem was that the meat was packed tighter than normal. Patties had the finished texture of Salisbury steak

JoeB I plan on using it on my stuffer as well, I would just like to have a plate that makes smaller diameter patties. I can smash them out when I cook them, I just really would like to be able to use the patty maker to make them consistent and faster than by hand.
-
JoeB As to reducing the thickness, I think It can be done, but you will still have to make a new slider mold and then an insert for the body that will raise the bottom of the body to take up the space. It can hang over the sides and drop into place to keep it from sliding out when the slider mold is in the maker.

Miket482000 Never thought of reducing the diameter. Always focused on thickness. I still warn you the the stuffer will compress the meat like Salisbury steak. LEM Has a patty maker that fits most grinders. It’s fast and works well. 3/8 or 1/2” square patties. Does a great job but it’s a 2 person operation. It also does extruded snack sticks and jerky.

Doing a smash burger on a 3/4” patty works too
-
my thought was to have a piece of clear Lexan on top to reduce thickness and make smaller diameter breakfast sausage patties

I really studied this thing over the years. You would have to affix the spacers in a way that it would not fall out with the patty There is an upside down taper in the mold to drop the patty

Sorry, I forgot my quick and easy solution for this problem. Fill a 1, 2, or 5lb tube using your grinder w/stuffer plate. Each tube has a different diameter for your choice. Now when partially frozen cut to desired thickness by hand or slicer. Works just like the breakfast sausage you no longer buy

JoeB That’s what I do as well. I find it way quicker than making patties and having to freeze and package patties.
-
Tex_77 yep I got so wrapped up in the moment I wasn’t thinking about my go-to solution
-
JoeB Yes it does, but it is to much for a breakfast sausage patty for me. Although I guess you could do just one instead of 2 or 3 smaller ones.
-
JoeB That would not be a problem at all to deal with. All you have to do is have a lip on the outside edges of the insert that fall down over the sides when the insert is in place. The slide mold can be fabricated with the same taper without any real difficulty.
-
Miket482000 the 1lb plastic game bags are 2 1/2” diameter same as store bought breakfast sausage
-
Miket482000 the top plate fits tight against the movable slide/mold to hold the batter in
