Just FYI I have begun posting to both Walton’s and Meatgsitcs Minds.com accounts. It’s a slightly different social media thing and I just want to see if it will do anything. I am planning on being the person in control of that account so, if you are already on Minds check us out. If you aren’t I really don’t know that another Social Media account is necessary. I am planning on using these accounts as more of a Hack or Tip place where I can share short quick helpful meat processing tips.

Jonathon I have never even heard of that site. Is it for millennials? Or is it for Senior Citizens? Has to be for Senior Citizens if you are using it.

Careful Tex, he’ll fire you. LOL

Worse yet Tex, He’ll cut your salary in half.

Jonathon
Is this somehow related to Ancient Aliens??
Sorry… -
Lol no, nothing odd, it is sort of an amalgamation of different aspects of social media platforms. It was created a few years ago with the idea that the creators should get most of the benefits from the advertising. We won’t be doing advertising on it but as different platforms grow and some go away we will shift with the times a little. For example, we do nothing with twitter anymore. I instructed Londyn to stop posting and responding to things on twitter a few months ago and we haven’t seen any negative effects from it.
Twitter was basically removed because I went through who was entering our giveaway and every twitter account I found was basically an account they created for giveaways, so there was no benefit to keeping it.Sorry, rambling! Basically, twitter bad, minds good (maybe)

Full disclosure: I am fairly ignorant of both twitter and Minds.
But the observation you raised about twitter users creating accounts just to get free stuff begs the question of what is different about Minds that would prevent/avoid the same thing from happening? -
So minds is a different type of social media, minds is more of a decentralized platform (or so I have heard from one of the creators) and the biggest difference for us will be that we do not make it an entry on our monthly giveaways.
Side note, Walton’s is about to change how we approach social media. We will be rolling that out in the next few weeks.

Jonathon You’re getting on DT’s platform aren’t you?
-
Tex_77 Lol, the platform that’ll never actually happen? No! What we are planning on doing with social media is a huge scale back and basically, just point everyone to meatgistics if they have any questions. We spend too much time helping individual people on social media.
