So I decided to put them in the oven for a couple hours to make sure they were above temp. I feel better now about eating them
Carrot fiber in brats
Making brats and going to add carrot fiber. First time using it. Should I add it to my liquid along with my spices or add it dry during the mixing?
I think it would work either way.
The only issue with adding a lot of dry ingredients together with the water, is sometimes the mix can get too thick, and clump up. Not just carrot fiber, but any recipe with a lot of dry ingredients being added to water.
Sometimes it just means adding a little additional water to keep it all flowable, which usually is OK too.
mdseaside Yeah, carrot fiber is very forgiving, if you add it directly to the meat or to the water it will work well either way.
Thanks for the info. Brats came out great. Did have to up the amount of water to the mix. Will be using it more.
Carrot fiber worked out great. Added it to my mix of spices and water, just had to add more water to bring it back to a nice slurry. Juiciest brat I have made yet. Will keep using it.
